The Commercial Section
The U.S. Commercial Service (U.S. Department of Commerce) has a regional presence at the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. In Tanzania, commercial matters are handled by the Economic and Commercial Section (U.S. Department of State) in close coordination with the regional commercial office in Nairobi.
The main goal of commercial services in Tanzania is to promote trade and investment by:
- Supporting U.S. businesses and investors in Tanzania
- Improving the investment climate
- Promoting U.S. products and services
- Encouraging greater use of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)
