The Consular Section is open to U.S. citizens for routine consular services from: 

Monday – Thursday   8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Friday                        8:00 AM to 10:00 AM

The Embassy is closed on official American and Tanzanian holidays and the Consular Section is closed to the public the last Wednesday of each month to allow for administrative affairs and in-service training.

Emergency Consular Services will always be available to American citizens and their families in distress due to illness, destitution, arrest, crime, death, or disaster.  American citizens and their families facing these situations should call the Embassy at the number above and you will be routed to either the Consular Section or the 24-hour Duty Officer.
