Expedited Appointments
All applicants must go to CitiBank to pay their non-refundable application fee and schedule an appointment for a visa interview online. After you have scheduled your appointment online, send a request for an expedited appointment to drsniv@state.gov. The Embassy will determine the need for an expedited appointment on a case-by-case basis.
Student and Exchange Visitors
Students whose interview date is less than a week before the program start date indicated on their I-20s or DS-2019s should scan the front page of the I-20 or DS-2019 and send it by email to drsniv@state.gov with a request for an earlier appointment. The Embassy will determine the need for an expedited appointment on a case-by-case basis.
Business Travelers
Businesspersons who must travel 72 hours before a date-specific event in the U.S. should scan the pertinent document and send it by email to drsniv@state.gov with an explanation of the lack of advance notice and a request for an earlier appointment. The Embassy will determine the need for an expedited appointment on a case-by-case basis.
Medical Emergencies
Iif you feel that your situation qualifies as a medical emergency, you may request an expedited appointment. The patient and any attendants should scan the acceptance letter from the U.S. hospital and send it by email to drsniv@state.gov with a request for the earliest appointment. Regardless of the extent of the emergency, all travelers wishing to enter the United States for medical treatment must present all of the documentation listed under Medical Treatment at the interview.
