Notarials

The Consular Section provides notary services for U.S. citizens and all nationalities whose documents are related to business in the United States.  Documents must be notarized in person and proper identification must be presented at the time the document is notarized.  The most common requests include notarizing power of attorneys and various affidavits.

The Embassy or Consulates cannot certify or authenticate state documents such as birth certificates, drivers' licenses, or divorce decrees, nor can the Embassy or Consulates provide or certify official translations of documents.

Please see the Department of State's webpage on Notarial and Authentication Services for more information on notary services and document authentication.
