Passport Services
Embassies overseas are no longer authorized to issue regular U.S. passports. All non-emergency passports are now processed in the United States. The Embassy in Dar es Salaam will accept your passport application and forward it to the U.S. for processing. We usually receive the new passport within 7 working days. You can pick up your new passport at the Embassy or arrange to have it delivered by private courier.
The Embassy is authorized to issue limited-validity passports in emergencies. Be advised, though, that a lack of planning does not constitute an emergency.
