USAID/Tanzania Launches New Web Site

February 15, 2006

Acknowledging that transparency is intricately linked to credibility, USAID/Tanzania has announced the launch of its new public web site: http://tanzania.usaid.gov The website reflects ongoing activities across six strategic program areas (health, HIV/AIDS, economic growth, democracy and governance, education and environment and natural resources management) and provides a broad range of information about: Tanzania, USAID/Tanzania’s office and programs, success stories, press releases, newsworthy developments, along with digital images and local artwork. It also includes external links and information about other United States Government agencies in Tanzania and USAID’s development partners in Tanzania. For those interested in pursuing employment or business opportunities locally with USAID, a business section provides useful links and information about any employment vacancies. For those conducting research on development issues, a simple search engine rapidly scans the site by key words for relevant documents and materials.

USAID/Tanzania is working with the Tanzanian Government and implementing partners to improve the quality of life of all Tanzanians. According to Mission Director Pamela White, the purpose of this website is “to educate the public about our work, to showcase the impact of USAID/Tanzania’s excellent initiatives, and to help others gain a sense of the beauty, diversity and challenges within Tanzania.”
