Dedication of Tongoni Primary School, Tanga

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Larry André planting a tree at the dedication of the newly renovated Tongoni Primary School on July 29, 2009. Service members from AFRICOM's Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), headquartered in Djibouti, in partnership with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the U.S. Mission in Tanzania rehabilitated the existing three building primary school and completed a partially constructed classroom in one of the buildings. This project improved conditions for 500 students attending the school from Tongoni in the Tanga region.
