Press Release
EducationUSA presentation
August 31, 2009
On August 31, 2009 the Director of International Admissions from Harvard College, Ms. Robin Worth, gave a presentation to students at the U.S. Embassy Dar es Salaam. Over 50 students from Kibasila Secondary School, St. Anthony High School, Loyola High School, Al-Muntazil Islamic Seminary, Jitegemee Secondary School, St. Hellen Secondary School, Dar es Salaam Independent School, and their guidance counselors learned about the university admission process for highly competitive United States colleges and universities.
There are many good students who are interested in studying in the United States but have no idea how to go about it. This program is one of the efforts of the U.S. Embassy’s Educational Advising center to increase these students’ awareness of what it takes to get into highly competitive colleges like Harvard
The response for the invitation for this presentation was overwhelming. Many students were turned down because of lack of space. Those who attended the presentation – teachers and students were grateful to have the opportunity to get information on one of the best schools in the U.S. They promised to come to the Advising Center for more information about Harvard and other U.S. Colleges and Universities.
