U.S. Ambassador to Answer Questions Live in Web Chat

Ambassador Mark Green will answers questions from Tanzanians in a live Web Chat scheduled for Monday, October 29, at 3 p.m. local time. Ambassador Green will discuss the recently approved $698 Million Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact Poverty Reduction Grant to Tanzania.

Ambassador Green has said that the terms “MCC” and “Millennium Challenge Act” may be confusing to some at first, but that soon Tanzanians will learn how this program can make a huge difference in their lives. “When the new MCC agreement is signed with the Government of Tanzania, it will build an even closer partnership between our two nations.”

The MCC Compact, provided by the American people, is a five-year program that seeks to reduce poverty, stimulate economic growth, and increase household incomes through targeted infrastructure investments in transport, energy and water throughout Tanzania.
