Head of TIC Pledges to Assist American Investors

The American Business Association (ABA) partnered with the U.S. Embassy to welcome the Chief Executive officer of the Tanzania Investment Center (TIC), Emmanuel Ole Naiko to their “Investor’s Forum” held at the American Embassy on Thursday, October 29, 2009.

According to a statement from the U.S. Embassy, Ole Naiko briefed the forum’s participants on TIC’s activities and what it can offer them. The Investment head heard the groups’ concerns about Tanzania’s investment climate, and provided guidance about resources available from TIC.

Ole Naiko told the group, “The TIC is there to help you investors invest properly, with minimum hassle.” He continued, “Bring your suggestions or concerns to my office, where there are officers from a number of ministries who work as a team to resolve some of your issues.”

The American Business Association is a not-for profit organization registered in Tanzania, and launched in December 2005. It serves U.S. citizens and U.S. controlled companies doing business in Tanzania, as well as Tanzanian business involving in or interested in trade with the U.S. The ABA has established a network and holds forums for sharing information, exchanging ideas and interacting with relevant U.S. and Tanzanian government policy makers, with the ultimate goal of increasing business and trade between the United States and Tanzania.

Other ABA objectives are to promote the spirit of business, professionalism and ethics in the Tanzania environment and to provide insight into American business philosophy, facilitate cross-cultural interaction between U.S. and Tanzanian business; provide resources for background information on doing business in Tanzania, and to provide information on new legislation that can impact businesses.
