KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY DR. CHRISTINE ISHENGOMA THE REGIONAL COMMISSIONER COAST REGION
Hon. Michael Retzer - U.S. Ambassador,
Lt. Col. S. Mrengo - Bagamoyo District Commissioner,
Real Admiral Richard Hunt - Commander CJTF HOA,
Brg Gen. Salim Salim - TPDF,
Lt. Col. Laura Varhola - U.S. Defence Attache,
TPDF Engineer and 6th Engineer Support Battalion Marines,
People of Msata Village, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for inviting me to officiate the handing over of the renovated Msata Dispensary.
I should like also to express my thanks to the American Embassy, the U.S. Military and TPDF for their joint effort which had made this renovations work possible. It is a memorable work for the Msata people and their neighbouring villages as from now onwards will get health services in a conducive environment.
Msata Dispensary as it is for all dispensaries in the country, is the main hope for curative and preventive health services to the rural population. People living in rural areas depend on dispensaries because they are within their locality. Therefore this renovation work is a sign of commitment at improving rural life.
The Msata Dispensary offer services to about 13,785 villagers in Msata ward and nearby villages, before the renovation, the building looked dilapidated because of lack of renovation, this lead to provision of poor quality services to client (people) due to poor working environment. After this renovation, health workers and the public will provide and receive quality health services in a conducive environment.
It is my hope that the Bagamoyo District Council in collaboration with the Community will provide regular preventive maintenance for sustainability of this good work.
I must however express my deep gratitude to Medical Professionals from the TPDF and US Military for providing medical care to our people at Kiwangwa, Fukayosi, Makurunge and Masuguru Dispensaries. We thank you for your care.
Last but not the least I would like to congratulate all Military personnel involved in this Training Exercise. I assure you that we will continue to value your contribution which will remain among us as a symbol of unit and co-operation. We welcome you again in Bagamoyo and the Coast region at large.
I appeal to the Msata people to utilize fully and to take care of the dispensary. Thank you for your kind Attention.
