Celebrating Women’s History Month

  • All around the world, U.S. citizens mark March to celebrate U.S. Women’s History Month, a month to remember how women and men have struggled to give women the same opportunities as men and how this struggle still continues.

    At the U.S. Embassy, we are celebrating Women’s History Month with the following activities and publications:

    • Honoring Ms. Anne Malecela, this year’s Tanzanian Women of Courage Award Recipient
    • Get to know the women who have changed our world – biographies of five American women making history
    • Film viewings – films and dates TBD – check back here
    • Poster Exhibition at the U.S. Embassy Library, “The Road to Equality: How American Women Won the Vote”

    March 8 also marks International Women’s Day . The U.S. Embassy wishes women and men in Tanzania a very happy International Women’s Day celebration.
